Gnu Police Department officers executing a routine wellness check on a property at the edge of the Westhaven agricultural district discovered Thursday what a department spokesperson described as a "horrific crime scene," recovering the remains of at least 13 individuals from a farmhouse and surrounding outbuildings linked to a serial murderer operating under the pseudonym 'Marco Rubio'. Police said they believe the name is an alias. They did not speculate further on what it might be an alias for.
The farmhouse, a two-story structure on approximately four acres of unincorporated land registered to a holding company called Patriot Harvest LLC, had not been inspected by any county, commonwealth, or municipal authority since 2019, when it received a clean bill of health following a 45-minute review. Detective Sergeant Owen Farr told reporters that evidence at the scene suggests the property had been in active use "for some time," adding that forensic processing would take "several weeks at minimum" and that the department anticipated the body count would rise. He said the department had received no prior complaints about the property.
The Gnu Nation Cultural Council issued a statement noting that three of the recovered individuals had been preliminarily identified as members of the Tahumake community who were reported missing between 2021 and 2023. The Cultural Council said it had filed missing persons reports with the Gnu Police Department on all three occasions and had received automated confirmation emails in response. City Clerk Patricia Voss said her office had received and logged the missing persons documentation and that it had been filed correctly.
Patrick Fenn of the Coalition for General Cannibalism Awareness said in a statement released Friday that the Coalition was "monitoring the situation closely" and asked that authorities "keep an open mind as to manner of death before drawing conclusions that could prove divisive." Patriot Harvest LLC did not return a request for comment. Its registered agent is listed as a UPS Store in Gnu's Harbor District.
