A large pyramid structure composed of an unidentified metallic substance appeared overnight at the intersection of 4th and Altman Street, where it was surrounded Tuesday evening by an undetermined number of individuals in red robes. The structure has not moved. A flame on its eastern exterior wall has also not moved, or diminished, or responded in any observable way to the weather.

Public Works Director Alan Marsh confirmed Wednesday morning that the structure had not been permitted, that the city lacked equipment capable of relocating it, and that the flame did not match any known classification under the New Newmanton Open Burning Ordinance. He said his department had flagged it as "an ongoing situation" and was monitoring it alongside the blood on the east face of the Newton Monument, which The News first reported was being monitored in March following the Founders' Square incident. Marsh did not indicate when monitoring transitions to a different phase of response.

City Clerk Patricia Voss said her office had received and logged the structure, opened a new file under the category "Unpermitted Immovable Objects (Ceremonial/Possible)," and ordered updated signage for the surrounding block. Voss noted that the intersection's name had not been the subject of litigation but that "the situation on the ground may prompt a review." No residents on the block could be reached for comment. A woman two streets over, asked if she had seen the pyramid, said she had and that she was "letting it settle before forming an opinion."
