The Rat Coalition, the functional coalition government operating beneath New Newmanton's streets and municipal infrastructure, voted unanimously Tuesday to codify self-identification bathroom access for all residents of the underground commonwealth, effective immediately. The measure passed 1,412 to 0, with four abstentions attributed to members currently occupied with the Harrison Street drainage project. A spokesperson was quoted as saying everyone was 'not sure what the big deal was'.
The Coalition noted in accompanying documentation that its 340 miles of subterranean tunnel infrastructure contains 2,219 designated bathroom facilities serving an estimated population of 1.1 million and that, to the body's knowledge, no access dispute or violence of any kind had ever been recorded, reported, or alleged in the system's history.
We were not aware this was a contested area of policy. We have codified it regardless. We do that sometimes.
The Rat Coalition, which provides functional sewage management, transit, universal healthcare, and emergency food distribution to the most in need of Gnu's rat population holds a 74% approval rating - the highest of any governing body on the island.
